The paper summarized shortly data on exposure assessment of Slovak population with antioxidants and preservatives as resulted from the research project of the National Programme for Health Support (2003-2005). According to the EU methodology a mean intake risk of food additives was assessed based on their legislation maximum limits and statistics on consumption of individual food categories. Similarly, intake risk of the additives by children of specific groups boarded under recommendations of the SR Ministry of Health was assessed. Mean intake of antioxidants and preservatives by Slovak populations seems to be fairly low; however at specific groups of population it may be deviated.
