Abstract Because of their potentiality in many electronic systems silver nanowires can attract very much attention in both academia and industry. Many research articles relating to silver nanowires in the past. But relatively few review articles focusing on these unique materials present review introduce. The definition and characterization of silver nanowires the synthetic methods applied to prepare silver nanowires; the factors which affect their final morphology also discussed in detail and also discuss the typical synthetic technologies and representative studies which are summarized.
