Aviation and Environment – Global Strategies for Future Air Transport

Climate impact is a major challenge for tomorrow’s air transport. Aviation has been the first global industry sector committing to ambitious climate goals, and in 2016, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) agreed on a CO2 certification standard for aircraft and a global market-based measure to offset emissions. These goals and measures have led to an impressive number of innovation projects such as battery-driven aircraft and a broad variety of sustainable jet fuels.
