Features of field practice in biology at the natural-geographical faculty of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko

The article considers the peculiarities of the organization and conduct of educational and field practices in biology at the Faculty of Natural Geography of Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko. The role and place of field practices in biology in the system of training future biology teachers in the specialty 014 Secondary Education (Biology and Human Health) are revealed. It is emphasized that during educational practices there is a practical application of knowledge, skills, abilities acquired during theoretical training, and also check of their efficiency. The analysis of the content of the curriculum and the identification of the share of field training practices in the training of biology teachers. Analysis of the content and ratio of practical training of future biology teachers to the theoretical component revealed that in the structure of the educational load on field practice there are 28.5 ECTS credits, which is 11.9% of the total credits provided by the educational and professional bachelor training program. Field practices in biology complete the study of relevant disciplines and are designed to consolidate the acquired theoretical knowledge, the formation of skills in field research, mastering the methodology of nature excursions and environmental activities. They are aimed at the development of initiative, the formation of a personal style of cognitive activity, taking into account the characteristics of the individual and the level of training of future biology teachers
