Presentation description: It is often challenging for medical schools to facilitate the study of pharmacological concepts. To deliver this curriculum, the NYU Grossman School of Medicine used to provide pharmacopoeias to students, usually in a table format. However, massed presentation of items has proven to be suboptimal for learning. This issue prompted discussions that led to the decision of creating and making available Anki flashcards as a study aid. Anki is a flashcard software that uses spaced repetition learning. This study technique allows students to see more often concepts they are learning, and less often concepts that are already familiar to them. It is common for medical students to create their own cards, collaborate to create group decks, or use decks that are available online. However, rarely do medical schools provide their own Anki decks to students. The purpose of this talk is to demonstrate how the use of school-provided Anki flashcards in the pharmacology curriculum is an opportunity to offer students one additional way to study
