Data from: Net plant interactions are highly variable and weakly dependent on climate at the global scale

Data were collected from the literature. The dataset is a compilation of published studies. An ISI Web of Science search covering the time period from 1900 onwards was conducted to identify the publications on plant interactions. Each publication was individually reviewed, and the reference list was inspected to identify additional relevant publications. We collected a total 1,220 publications for data compilation.
