The main aim of the article is to analyze the philosophical concepts of fragility and irritability (which are the two dimensions of sensitivity) in the context of teaching philosophy, ethics and religion. The authors diagnose the state of a kind of crisis resulting in an extension of irritability in the public discourse. The proposed way out of this crisis is to increase criticism and self-criticism (both in education and in the public discourse). Well-conducted philosophical education can foster criticism, and consequently give rise to reduction of social irritability
