Italian National Committee for Food Safety (CNSA) opinion No. 14 of 1 October 2015 on the risk related to the presence of erucic acid in food and feed. Following EFSA’s call of 27 March 2015, related to data collection for the re-evaluation of risk for human and animal health connected to erucic acid presence in food and feed, CNSA deemed it appropriate to provide a national contribution. In particular, based on the available data, it considers that the maximum levels established by the EU Regulation should be revised, particularly with respect to dietary exposure of infants and children.
