In this talk, I give an overview of the efficiency theory of asymmetric coding in grammar, and I ask to what extent so-called "simplicity/informativeness trade-off" phenomena are better explained by frequency-induced shortness of coding (due to the bisyllabic morph constraint) than by a trade-off between informativenss and cognitive simplicity
