Studies on Some N-Acyl N-Phenylhydroxylamines as Metal Complexing Ligands. Part VII. N-o-Tolyl-N-Hydroxysuccinamic Acid

Cu(II) and Ni(II) complexes of the ligand are isolated as Cu(Rt°)(H2O)2 and Ni(Rtº)(H2O)2. Their magnetic data d—d spectra in mull and i.r. spectra in KBr matrix are recorded. From the spectral study of Fe(III)-Rt°H2 system in aqueous solution, the formation of two different complexes of composition (1 : 1) and (2 : 3) at pH values \(\approx\) 2.00 and \(\approx\)3.10 has been observed
