The talk introduces into the Digital Humanities and shows how the Classics might benefit from the knowledge and methods of the DH. The second part deals with the issue "vocabulary acquisition" and a newly developed digital tool (Machina Callida) that uses NLP to create corpus-based vocabulary exercises in Latin classes.Funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), project number 31661837
