Pseudotremia armesi Shear P. a r m e s i Shear 1972, p. 185. Type locality: Neely Farm Cave, Athens, Mercer Co., WEST VIRGINIA. Male holotype, female paratype in MCZ. Neely Farm Cave, a small, relatively short and shallow cave just outside the limits of the town of Athens, is also the type and only locality for a troglobiotic springtail, Pseudosinella testa Christiansen & Bellinger 1980. Notes: This species is a troglophile; specimens taken in caves are paler in coloration and have somewhat reduced ocelli compared to those from epigean habitats.
