Worldwide aquaculture making (including aquatic plants) stands at 150.2 million tonnes, with the first sale value predictable at USD 253.5 billion. The total production included 80.0 million tonnes of food fish and 30.1 million tonnes of aquatic plants. Currently aquaculture contributes to 46.8 percent of total global fish production. Dietary fibres and high fibre-containing foods have been a huge magnetism among researchers and nutraceutical industries due to their health-promoting benefits.
