The main objective of this pilot project is to demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of satellite remote sensing and GIS techniques in parameterisation for modelling risk factors of flood generation in Norway, with emphasis on change in land use and human impact within the catchment. The long term objective is to use satellite data as an element in flood prediction and management not only for snow but for several other parameters such as vegetation, soil, topography and land use change.NERSC Technical Report no. 168
