Synthesis of Thiatriazole Derivative from 6-Methyl-1,4-benzoxazin-3(2H)-one

Reaction of 2, with ammonium sulphocyanide gave compound 3, which when condensed with methyl cyanide afforded the title compound 4 with an excellent yield. This is an interesting example of hetero Dies-Alder reaction, the 1,4-cycloaddition of isothiocyanate to acetonitrile
