The article is devoted to the peculiarities of Christian religious symbols in the Mother of God Psalter. The author of the Church Slavonic translation of the Theotokos Psalter relies on Bonaventure's “Psalterium Beatæ Mariæ Virginis”, but creates a different version of the Theotokos Psalter. The author of the article notes some nuances in the interpretation of the image of the Virgin Mary in the sources under consideration. In the Church Slavonic Psalter of the Theotokos, in particular, a manifestation of filial appeal to the Mother of God as the Mother of all Christians, as the Most Merciful Mother, is found to a greater extent. The Latin Psalter of the Theotokos emphasizes to a great extent the royalty of the Virgin Mary
