Background: Overcrowding and promiscuity observed in our prisons are a spreading source of several diseases including infections transmitted by interhuman contact. It has been argued that skin diseases are the most frequent reasons for consultations in prisons. In Cameroon, no study has been done to assess the magnitude of this issue.
