DISTRIBUTION: High elevations in Cordilleras Central and Talamancae of Costa Rica to Volcan Chiriqui region in W Panama. SYNONYMS: harrisi, longipilosus. COMMENTS: Hooper (1972) synonymized harrisi and longipilosus under S. xerampelinus, without subspecies.Published as part of Guy G. Musser & Michael D.
