The following article analyses the narrow fragment of the issue of permanent night illumination on historical architecture. We draw attention to the fact that the casting a shadow always plays an important role, especially on the facade. In the public historical area, where the building facades come from different periods alongside each other, this way of modeling architecture acquires, through light and shade, a wider cultural and historical significance. For a visual exploration, we chose a lively urban area - the Main Square in Bratislava. The square acts as a great interior at night.
