South African National Survey of Arachnida Photo Identification Guide: The Cithaeronidae of South Africa.

The Cithaeronidae is a small family of spiders represented by two genera, Cithaeron and Inthaeron but only one species Cithaeron contentum Jocqué & Russel-Smith, 2011 is presently known from only one locality in South Africa. The species is under collected and more localities are suspected to occur. More sampling is needed, to determine the species’ range it is therefore listed as Data Deficient
