This presentation gives an introduction to the world of galaxies from a multi-wavelength data perspective. The importance of multiwavelength studies has been introduced through different examples and through the derivation of different physical properties of galaxies when going from X-rays to radio, paying special attention to the UV-optical-NIR regime. Finally, different scaling relations have been introduced and discussed
