Forecasting the Cryptocurrency Prices: A Machine Learning Approach

Abstract: Crypto currency is a non-centralized digital currency that is exchanged between peers without the need of a central government. It operates with block chain technology which makes it difficult or impossible to change, hack, or cheat the system. This research attempts to forecast the prices of 20 most traded crypto currencies for the time period 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2021. Secondary data analysis shows the Yearly Returns, Rate of growth, AVR, and CAGR of the crypto currency prices and was validated. Machine learning algorithms were built using WEKA Software to make predictions of the future price movements of crypto currencies. Keywords: Cyptocurrency, Price Forcasting, Machine Learning, WEKA.
