PERBANDINGAN PENGARUH ANTARA REBUSAN AIR DAUN SALAM DAN AIR REBUSAN DAUN SIRSAK TERHADAP TEKANAN DARAH KELOMPOK PREHIPERTENSI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS GEMBONG, SERANG

Hypertension is a condition where systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Management of hypertension consists of two types through pharmacology and non-pharmacology therapies. One non-pharmacological treatment is the use of plants as herbal medicines such as bay leaves and soursop leaves. This study was aimed to identify the differences of blood pressure reduction between bay leaves and soursop leaves. The design of this study used quasy experimental with two groups. The number of samples used was 7 samples in each intervention group. Based on the analysis of intervention group respondents, bay leaves and soursop leaves by using dependent t test showed there were significant differences in each intervention group, the mean values of systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after being given bay boiled water were 130.71 and 87, 86 mmHg of the mean dropped to 121.86 and 85.14 mmHg. In addition, the mean value of systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after being given soursop leaf boiled water was 131.43 and 92.71 mmHg the mean value dropped to 126.86 and 89.57 mmHg. The independent test results of the T-test sample showed p-value = 0.195 on systolic blood pressure and p-value = 0.241 on diastolic blood pressure. From the results of both, there was no significant difference between the intervention of bay leaves and soursop leaves. It is expected that further research uses different intervention designs, so that it can explore the effect of effectiveness between bay leaves and soursop leaves
