More than ninety years after publication, Einstein's general relativity theory is still a highly successful theory of gravitation. Meanwhile, general relativity theory has passed a lot of observational and experimental tests, opportunities to test the validity of general relativity are increasing. Yet more and more, some recent observational data (dark energy) indicate the need to test the logical consistency of Einstein's general relativity theory.
