Abstract— Recently, ubiquitous computing gained huge advances after internet of things (IoT) has become an essential ecosystem. The combination of high energy consumption and difficulty in timely energy generation, substitution and redistribution present real challenges currently. This paper presents an energy management solution consisting of a combination of a networked energy harvesters, real-time energy consumption monitoring, and energy storage with an intelligent distribution system. The proposed solution is based on the use of a redundant battery that is always kept at a standby energy level and recharged directly from a harvester or a centralized energy storage.
