The hitherto unknown queen of the ant species Strumigenys datryx Bolton, 2000 is described. Five species of the ant genus Strumigenys F. Smith, 1860 are newly recorded from Sumatra and illustrated: S. dohertyi Emery, 1897, S. edaragona Bolton, 2000, S. panopla Bolton, 2000, S. rotogenys Bolton, 2000, and S. sydorata Bolton, 2000.
