This paper explores Resolution No. 94/2020 of the State Education Council, which presents alternatives for the transmission of remote classes in Maranhão during the pandemic period, caused by the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). Among the alternatives is the transmission of classes through radio and open TV. The study aims to describe the pedagogical potential of these tools in learning process. It deals with a bibliographic and documentary research, which discusses the impacts of the suspension of face-to-face classes and also addresses the challenges and benefits of transmission of classes on open communication channels (radio and TV), in Maranhão.
