Гендерна рівність та рівні можливості у вимірі сучасної публічної політики і сталого розвитку України

Since the Second World War, efforts to establish global governance have intensified and are increasingly involving all countries of the world. International agreements, organizations and ideas sought to establish a well-recognized practice of solving problems in almost all spheres of life. Significant work is focused on developing cooperation procedures to ensure a collegial, joint solution to problems that cannot be solved on their own, separately, but also so that powerful countries can promote their own interests. Over the years, many countries have also sought to push the international community to decide on long-term goals for social, political and economic change. These attempts concern how societies should be organized, sometimes based on a humanitarian agenda, sometimes on dominant political and economic thinking. In a globalized and diverse world, with many close ties between countries and different strong views on global and local development, the challenge of setting international regulatory priorities has become as much a dispute and a conflict as it has become important. The purpose of this study is to stimulate the review of Ukraine's gender policy in the process of forming public policy on the basis of comparative assessments and international comparisons. Using theoretical evidence, the characteristics of gender equality and gender inequality in Europe and Ukraine, the features of its formation and implementation at the levels of public policy. It is emphasized that gender equality forms the basis for the growth of countries. Trade exacerbates existing gender inequalities that are the result of social, structural hierarchies. At the same time, structural gender inequalities serve as barriers to building a country’s trade potential to take advantage of global market opportunities resulting from liberalization. The EU has placed gender equality in an institutionalized system of labor standards, supported by the International Labor Organization and its international decent work order. Adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals, including the 2030 Agenda, promises to strengthen the priority of gender equality at the national level and the global development agenda. Thus, it is concluded that various gender gaps in Ukraine's public policy need to be addressed
