Reviewed the mathematical model of low pressure hydrocyclone, allowing to estimate the speed of the liquid and solid phases. Found that the presence of fine particulate matter does not significantly affect the speed of the fluid flow. Is carried out the analysis of the work of the filters with the floating layer of the filtering material, intended for removal of suspended matter from water. The obtained results make it possible to estimate the effectiveness of the purification of water, hydraulic losses in the filtering load, operating time between the cycles of the washing of load.
