Southeast Asia comprises an extraordinarily diverse set of countries with vast differences in the scale and patterns of energy use and energy resources endowments. Indonesia and Thailand have been selected to be compared because they are the two largest consumers in energy sector in the region and both countries still similarly rely on energy imports such as oil. They have been facing challenges in energy policy reformation distorting energy markets. The combined energy status of Indonesia and Thailand not only aims at providing policy makers with an understanding of the energy trends and challenges being faced by the countries up to the next two decades, but also at confidently convincing them the future energy pathways to unlocking energy...
