Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a long-term condition with serious and often deadly consequences. In this review, we highlight the main areas targeted for primary CVD prevention in primary care, as well as recommendations to minimize CHD risk. This is accomplished by searching electronic databases (MEDLINE, Embase, SCOPUS, CINAHL,) for published articles prevention measures in lowering the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Primary prevention programs aimed at reducing risk behaviors on a population-wide scale, as well as the identification, stratification, and also targeted treatment of high-risk individuals prior to the progression of condition, should be cornerstones of any strategy to reduce the population's fear of CHD and also, pre...
