SI "Ukrainian Scientific-Research Institute of Medical Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" * Odessa National Medical University Summary The paper analyzes contemporary views on etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, drug and non-medicated treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, predicted growth of morbidity, and the possibility of using mineral water in this category of patients. The research was carried out with the aim of studying the effect of various mineral water composition and mineralization on the course of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and associated metabolic disorders to prevent the progression of the underlying disease and to reduce cardiometabolic risk. On the basis of the obtained results, the views on the specificity of the action of mineral waters of various balneological types and mineralization on the clinical course of the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease at different stages of the disease, the influence on its functional state, the dynamics of lipid metabolism, changes in disturbed carbohydrate tolerance and insulin resistance, and the nature of the effect on The profile of the cytokines is adiponectin and leptin. The conclusion is made that mineral water can be successfully used in the complex treatment of patients with NAFLD.
