We have conducted experimental study into parameters of the piston engine 1Ch 6.8/5.4 with forced ignition operated on ethanol with different additives of the synthesis-gas in the amount to 10 %. We used the methods of working cycle indication, as well as registering the thermal balance of the engine, which make it possible to obtain the most complete pattern that characterizes ethanol combustion with additives of the synthesis-gas, as well as to determine the relationship and influence of the composition of an additive on the basic parameters of the engine working cycle.
