Department of Chemistry, Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur Manuscript received 2 August 1971; revised 22 August 1972; accepted 12 January 1973 The amperometric titrations carried out between Na2-dithiolterephthalate [R(SNa)2] and TI(I), Sm(III) and Pr(III) at Ed.e. =-0.01 V (VS S.C.E.) reveal the formation of insoluble compounds having the compositions, (I) RS2TI2, (II) (RS2)3 Sm2 and (III) (RS2)3 Pr2. The compounds of Sm (III) and Pr(III) have appreciable solubility and hence their reactions were studied in 50% aq.- ethanolic medium. Thallium (I)—dithiolterephthalate is sparingly soluble compound and its formation has also been substantiated conductometrically
