¿Cómo se construye la satisfacción estudiantil en la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y de Administración, Udelar, Uruguay? (How satisfaction is built student at the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y de Administración, Udelar, Uruguay?)

This paper presents the main results obtained when applying Latent Class Analysis in the construction of student satisfaction at Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y de Administración, Udelar (Uruguay), based on variables that are understood to determine it. The main objective of this work is to identify a latent variable associated with the level of satisfaction with the institution mentioned previously, which is manifested through groups of students. In addition, the characteristics of the students who did not answer the research input form, either totally or partially, and therefore were left out of the study are analyzed. The data used come from a survey carried out on a probabilistic sample of undergraduate students from the faculty through a complex sample design (n = 1809). The questionnaire used for the survey followed the guidelines of the European Consumer Satisfaction Index (ECSI). The methodological strategy followed is Latent class analysis with two scenarios: without covariates and with covariates (age, career, abandonment and employment), both methods evaluated using the EM algorithm. From the main results obtained, a structure of 4 classes/groups determined by the level of student satisfaction emerges: high, medium high, medium low and low. When analyzing the characterization based on the covariates, practically no significant differences were found between the classes according to the career variable. On the other hand, it can be stated that the fact of working and/or having dropped out of college at least once is associated with lower levels of satisfaction, while older age with higher satisfaction. From the results presented it is also possible to identify a structure of 4 groups/classes associated with different levels of student satisfaction. In addition, it is possible to detect differences between the 4 classes based on the covariates analyzed.
