Seven species (Cephalozia ambigua, Harpanthus flotowianus, Isopaches decolorans, Schljakovianthus quadrilobus, Solenostoma pumilum, Andreaea nivalis and Dicranella staphylina) are reported for the first time for South Tyrol, three of them (Schljakovianthus quadrilobus, Solenostoma pumilum and Dicranella staphylina) as new for the region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. Solenostoma gracillimum, Liochlaena lanceolata and Conostomum tetragonum were re-found after more than 100 years, and seven further species are considered to be very rare (Lophozia ascendens, Nardia compressa, Scapania uliginosa, Crossidium squamiferum, Dicranum majus, Grimmia anomala and Grimmia caespiticia).
