Objectives. Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides) is a plant used as food and in medical needs due to its composition rich in nutrients and biologically active substances. The article discusses experimental and in vivo studies on the properties of various sea buckthorn products. The aim of this paper was to systematize and analyze data from the modern scientific literature on the study of biologic, therapeutic and prophylactic effects of sea buckthorn on the nutritional status and use of sea buckthorn products in gastrointestinal and liver pathology.
