This article presents a bronze coin (diameter 30 mm) of a hitherto unknown type, struck in Temnus (Aeolis, Asia minor): obv. bust of Philippus II Augustus to the right, rev. Asklepios standing front. The reverse is signed by the strategos Aurelios Stratoneikianos; the letters Z B in the exergue, which are also attested on other coin types struck for the same magistrate in the same period, are puzzling and have not been explained so far. A comparative analysis of the signature on these pieces, other coin legends, and inscriptions suggests that Stratoneikianos may have held office as «strategos heptaeterikos» for the second time when these coins were produced
