Wireless Charging of Mobile Phones Using Microwaves

As we all know in today's world mobile phones are becoming an integral part of our lives, as it is the fastest way of communication. The cell phones differ in their Battery standby according to their manufacturers and batteries. Battery of a mobile phone is always considered as a major problem for the battery manufacturers. All the mobile phones irrespective of their battery’s standby are required to be put to recharge after the battery has drained out. Some people often complain about their phone batteries, that their phones doesn't have a long battery life. Also, in our busy schedule it is not possible to find a power outlet wherever we go. In this paper we would like to introduce to a new idea of charging the phones without connecting it to its wired charger with the help of microwaves on a large scale. So, microwaves are basically the radio waves which are used to communicate through the two mobile phones. The microwave signal is transmitted from the transmitter with the special kind of antennas called slotted wave antennas at a frequency of 2.24GHz to 2.54 GHz. In order to apply this method some additions are need to be made in our handsets, all we need to do is add a sensor, A 'rectenna' and a filter. Using the above setup, the need for separate chargers for mobile phones is eliminated. With these proposals the manufacturers would be able to remove the battery stand by from phone specifications. The advantage of implementing this method is that it can wirelessly charge the batteries which can save time and money in a long run for the general public. Other advantage which it offers is that, the more you talk the more your phone gets charged. This technology will swap cables and standardize on one interface, potentially being able to regulate power settings to charge diverse types of batteries
