ПРИВАТНА ІНІЦІАТИВА У РОЗВИТКУ ІСТОРИКО-КРАЄЗНАВЧОГО РУХУ НА ХАРКІВЩИНІ НАПРИКІНЦІ ХІХ – НА ПОЧАТКУ ХХ ст.

The article analyzes the influence of private initiative on the formation and the development of the local history movement in Kharkiv province in the late XIXth – the early XXth century. Such directions of this influence as private donations, the collection of the information about local history, the realization of archaeological and ethnographic researches, the involvement to local history studying, supporting of events on local history, as well as the help in the establishment and the further development of local history institutions are identified and analyzed. The diversity of social classes, representatives of which participated in the activities on local history, as well as the variety of regions, that were represented, showed the interest to this work among the different segments of the population not only in Kharkiv and other provinces of the Russian Empire
