IMAGINATION AND CREATIVITY AS A MEANS/MODE OF WORKING WITH STUDENTS WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER

This study investigates the educational process of a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder, focusing on their Physical Education classes. It aims to understand and interpret the imaginary process of a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder during his physical education classes. The research is based theoretically and methodologically on the historical-cultural perspective of human development. Moreover, it is based on biographical studies by bringing the narrative to the production of empirical work. The data were constructed in a municipal public school in a medium-sized city in the interior of the state of São Paulo, during the 2019 school year. The results indicate that the use of imagination and creativity activities in students with Autism Spectrum Disorder present significant processes for these students. In addition, the findings indicate that decisions about pedagogical proposals cannot be taken a priori, but rather constructed in listening to these students
