Memory of the Eternal Flame: Digital Platform about the Lipetsk Territory during the Second World War

Over the past few years, a lot of resources have been created on the Great Patriotic War, the developers of which are various organizations, departments and individuals. The duration of the work of most of these sites fade out after a while, or they become active only by the anniversary dates. That is why we decided to develop a full-text regional resource that could help those in need in searching for information about relatives-soldiers. We have reviewed, analyzed, and digitized the unique local history information from the collection of our library. The result of the work was the electronic resource "Memory of the Eternal Flame" (http://war.lib48.ru/), created to preserve the memory of the heroic deeds of our fellow countrymen, as well as those who defended our region during the Great Patriotic War. This resource is unique for our region, since all the information presented here is documented, on the basis of which consolidated databases have been created: "Memory Book", "Military burials", as well as a list of hospitals stationed in the territory of the present Lipetsk region
