Like many other realms of political science, the debate over political methodology in Europe has been influenced by the American discussion up to the point of being reduced to a perhaps somewhat belated commentary of debates deemed terminated in the American context. An analysis of references to methodological contributions in political science articles would probably reveal that American authors are far more frequently cited by Europeans than vice versa.
