With the growth of cities, there is a proportional increase in the scarcity of available land. As cities expand land becomes more and more important. Underground space engineering provides a solution to the aforementioned challenge however construction and maintenance of underground spaces have their challenges. Therefore, there is a need for efficient detection and monitoring techniques. Detection techniques are employed for the identification of potential hazards such as structural weaknesses, gas leaks, and water infiltration.
