A case study of EU funded Horizon 2020 project Blue Action, is to co-develop a climate service to harness weather risks to offshore operations in the Arctic region. With dramatic on-going changes in the Arctic, partly triggered by the melting of the Greenland ice sheet, and shifts in North Atlantic Ocean currents, there is an urgent need to understand how Arctic processes interact and evolve. Blue Action aims to demonstrate how climate services in co-design with end-users can serve its’ purpose of mitigating risks, and create greater awareness towards the causal mode of extreme weather events.
