This lecture gives an overview of the methods of measuring student achievements and considers knowledge and skills as objects of evaluation. Test specifications are presented briefly and definitions are given of some major concepts related to test evaluations: difficulty, discrimination power and distractor analysis of a test question. Further, statistical concepts used in test evaluation are considered, like frequency tables and graphs, histograms, distribution center, mean value, mode, median, quartile, dispersion, range, standard deviation of a data set
