Synthesis of a Few Acid Hydrazides: Sulphonyl Hydrazides and Their Derivatives from 2-Phenyl- 1,2,3-Triazole-4-Carboxylic Acid and 4-Nitrophenylmercapto Acetic Acid as Antibacterial

Nadkarny-Sacasa Research Laboratory, St. Xavier's College, Bombay 400 001 Manuscript received 2 February 1976; revised 26 April 1976; accepted 9 June 1976 The hydrazides of 2-pheny1-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid; 2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylic acid-4'-sulphonyl chloride; 4-nitrophenyl mercapto acetic acid were obtained and their N-benzy­lidene derivatives were prepared. 2-Phenyl-4-(2'-aryl substituted amino-1', 3', 4'-ozadiazoly1)- 1,2,3-triazole and 4-aryl substituted-5-mercapto-3-(4'-nitrophenylmercapto methyl)-1,2,4-triazole were prepared from the acid hydrazides. All the hydrazides and their N-benzylidene derivatives were screened for antibacterial activity
