The study aims to analyze the feasibility of using the low power long range (LoRa) technology, for use as a data acquisition, communication and real-time information availability system. To this end, a device was assembled to perform the conceptual tests and subsequent analysis. The technology is promising and will provide a technological leap in the current tracking systems and data collection of animals, both in their habitats and in urban regions. The system is aimed at the conservation and protection of wildlife, in addition, can be used to monitor and prevent the risk of wildlife contact with humans in areas at risk of contact due to the expansion of rural and urban areas.
