Tingginya Minat Olahraga Petanque pada Pelajar SMP Di Kota Makassar

Petanque sports demand the ability of players both physically, technically, tactically and mentally. One of the basic techniques that must be mastered by a petanque player is pointing and shooting techniques. The pointing technique is to bring the iron ball to the boka as close as possible and shooting is a form of effort to keep the opponent's iron ball away from the target as far as possible to produce a score. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on how much student interest in playing petanque sports individually or collectively in students of public middle school number 13 Makassar. The method in this research is survey research with quantitative descriptive method, with data retrieval using pointing and shooting tests and questionnaires. The results obtained were the interest in petanque sports with a high category of 53%, for pointing results obtained a mean score+SD (4,6+2,6), and the shooting results obtained a mean score+SD (6,1+2,3). So it can be concluded that the interest in petanque sports at public middle school number 13 Makassar is in the high category, but the basic techniques still need to be improved
