Transcending Disciplinary Boundaries & Exploring Multidisciplinary Research In Social Sciences with focus on the Discipline on History

In today’s scenario, our society has become more global and boundaries between different disciplines are constantly getting blurred. The society particularly educational institutions having understood the complexities of social problems emphasize on the importance of multidisciplinary research. The understanding is that major contemporary and future social challenges can only be met by encouraging multidisciplinary thinking with an enhanced understanding of human perceptions, responses and academic bodies. The post-modern approaches and its versatile knowledge have made historians understand the past with the tool of multi-disciplinary approaches. The blurring of disciplinary boundaries that Geertz talks about can be understood by looking into the way new disciplines and sub--disciplines are emerging which embody the limits of conventional disciplinary boundaries and the quest for a new mode of engagement. which cuts across various disciplines.
